The City of Pryp'yat'

The following images show the city of Pryp'yat', Ukraine, which was home to the workers at the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant and their families.

Abandoned Building

The radiation has practically run off any human activity at Chernobyl and now nature is reclaiming the city.

Abandoned Apartment

The soviet union was attempting to get ahead in the nuclear game. They left their mark in Ukraine with the destroyed reactor and abandoned city.

Hotel Polisya

This shows the Polisya Hotel, built in the 1970’s, and shows the impact the Chernobyl accident had on the city of Pryp’yat. The environment is now overgrown and has taken back the city today.

Amusement Park

The town of Pryp’yat was built for the workers of Chernobyl and their families, and it had an amusement park that was set to open five days after the accident happened, due to the disaster the rides have never been used.

Abandoned Home

A picture of sheet music is shown, and it shows the immediate evacuation and that residents never were able to come back to the town. It was originally temporary until readings showed that it wouldn’t be safe to live.
